Dump'ling, n., dwarfish old fashioned bear with a whimsical twist. Usually, but not always (though most likely more oft than not) exhibiting the unique Dumpling trait of characteristically odd proportions. Once considered near extinction & rarely sighted ('cept during dawn and twi'night by the most open-minded human folk), Dumplings are happily increasing in small numbers thanks to *conservation efforts by the **Minister of Dumplingland. Dumpling bruins are quite suited to a cozy indoor domestic life (with some light excursions to the cafes, patisseries & bookshops of course!) and thus are always looking for a kind, loving home.
Though Dumplings prefer the company of fellow kinds (and all things Dumplingesque), they are amicable creatures who get along nicely with all sorts of bears and bear friends (perhaps in part to Dumplings tendency for throwing elaborate tea parties!). A word of caution: as sweet as they appear, these Dumplings are not edible, and in no way to be confused with Pierogis or Gnocchi either. Chopsticks are a no-no with these tender Dumplings, they love to be hand held... and kissed too.
*Conservation efforts included unlimited pots of warm tea (various flavors), generous donations of baked goods (without nuts, Dumplings are severely allergic), stacks of soft blankets, aromatherapy candles (only under adult supervision), daily storybook readings, a dedicated Dumpling botanical garden (for tea parties & socializing), and a large dose of imagination.
